J&L is committed to offer world-class pricing and quality.   We have established a partnership with two proven moldmaking facilities in Shenzhen, China.   Moldmaking projects with our China partners provides our customers with aggressive pricing, top quality and competitive lead times.  

J&L stands by the work done by our China partners.  With complete moldmaking capabilities in our Connecticut facility, J&L is able to maintain and service molds from China once they arrive at our facility.

A typical China moldmaking project follows these phases…

Mold Design Phase

On each tooling project in China, J&L is involved on the tool design process and has final approval on the design.  Once we approve the design the moldmaking process starts.

Moldmaking Phase

We update the customer on a weekly basis with charted progress and digital pictures.

China Sampling Phase

The mold is sampled in China and the samples are air shipped to J&L for approval.  J&L will send a sample of the part to the customer.  Once J&L approves the sample parts the mold is shipped to J&L.

Mold Shipment Phase  

Upon approval of samples the mold is Air Shipped to our Wallingford, Connecticut facility.  J&L is responsible for all shipping and customs fees.  Air freight time is estimated at 2 weeks from the time the mold leaves the facility in Shenzhen and arrives at our facility.

J&L Sampling Phase

Upon arrival at J&L the mold is inspected by our toolmakers and sampled.  J&L submits samples and a complete inspection report to the customer.  Once the customer approves the samples the mold is ready for production.
