A J&L Plastic Molding Project…The Sensor Story: Ready for Spring…Somfy North America makes products that automate and control window coverings, awnings, rolling shutters, and projections screens remotely from a single control point. They are developing the Eolis Wirefree Vibration Sensor to close outside awnings automatically when winds increase. Somfy needed help with the Sensor Enclosure. Project Scope: Design and build a weatherproof Enclosure in time for Spring Selling Season that allows the Install Technician to access the electronics multiple times! Design Stage: Somfy provided detailed design parameters then J&L designed the Enclosure in SolidWorks. The Enclosure Assembly includes a Top, Bottom, and Gasket. Somfy reviewed and approved the 3D Models.
Tooling Stage: Upon approval of the design J&L built molds in the Prototype Plus System. The mold components are made from S-7 steel and capable of meeting production requirements.
Molding / Assembly Stage: J&L now produces the Top, Bottom and Gasket. The Gasket is assembled into place in the Bottom.
