The Filter Block: DNA Sequencing…
Harvard Medical required a Filter Block for DNA sequencing. Harvard Medical uses the Filter Block to hold two filters and a beam splitter. They tag DNA with florescence particles then excite with specific wavelength light and look at the florescence that is emitted at a shifted wavelength.
Project Scope: Fabricate the Filter Block rapidly to Harvard Medical's original design. Based on results from initial testing be ready to tweak tooling.

Tooling Stage: J&L built tool in the Prototype Plus System. The tool components are made from S-7 steel and capable of meeting production requirements.
Tooling Stage Lead Time: 4 Weeks
Approval Stage: After initial testing of Filter Block, Harvard Medical required 2 part design tweaks requiring the tool to be altered.
Approval Stage Tooling Lead Time: Under 3 Weeks, including testing time by Harvard Medical.
TOOLING COST: under $4,000
